After several safaris and many hopeful attempts, I finally stood before Craig, Amboseli’s legendary big tusker. The moment was surreal — years of anticipation condensed into one breathtaking encounter on the shimmering dry lakebed, completely alone with this gentle giant.
Our journey through Kenya was intense, rewarding, and perfectly orchestrated. Under the expert guidance of Marius Coetzee, every day brought incredible photographic opportunities — from lions on the prowl to elephants bathed in soft evening light. It was my first time staying at Great Plains Conservation camps, and I was deeply impressed by their ethos, sustainability, and the genuine warmth of every team member.
These camps are more than just beautiful places to stay; they stand as symbols of conservation and community, ensuring that wildlife and people thrive together. Thanks to Marius and the ORYX team, this safari was seamless from start to finish — an unforgettable adventure that captured both the spirit of Kenya and the magic of wild Africa.
