Svalbard is the largest Norwegian archipelago located in the Arctic Ocean partway between Norway and the North Pole.

With towering snowcapped mountains, forbidding glaciers, flower-studded tundra & towering fjords, it is here where the formidable Polar Bear reigns as the apex predator and we hope to capture these white bears on the drifting ice sprinkled across the ocean. Svalbard is considered the best place on earth for photographing Polar Bears but a treasure trove of photographic highlights await that includes the Arctic Fox, Walrus, Bearded & Ringed Seals, Belugas, Orcas, Narwhal, Bowhead Humpback, Fin & Blue Whales, Puffins, Guillemots and Reindeer. Four different variations of Svalbard Photo Tours are available, each one catered for a specific season that highlights the splendours found here. The Winter photo expeditions are in March and April, when the lighting conditions are quite simply magical. Soft, pastel shades of orange, pink and blue bathe the landscape in an otherworldly light that that is indescribable! The Ice Lover photo expeditions are at the start of summer in the arctic, before the drift ice retreats and offers photo opportunities to capture this remote wilderness frosted with snow. The Classic photo expeditions are considered the best time to embark on a Svalbard tour as the ice has sufficiently melted to navigate around the archipelago. As it would over the summer in the arctic, the midnight sun will offer ample light and offers more time to capture wildlife & topography. The Autumn Light photo expeditions are in September, when summer starts to dissipate and soft lighting returns to the island. The areas of melted ice may offer the chance to see some of the lesser-visited sections of Svalbard, with waterfalls and glacier fronts. Zodiac trips will be incorporated to get closer to wildlife, the ice and glaciers as we explore this unforgettable destination when it is completely devoid of humans.
